Katie and Adam-Married! • Part 2 • Portraits and Happenings • Winston Salem, NC

Katie and Adam's casual outdoor reception was a lot of fun. Cornhole, Bocce Ball and Croquet were played and everyone chatted the night away. The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks show put on by Adam and some of his friends.

Portland's Rose Garden • Portland, OR

Portland's Rose Garden is the oldest public garden of its kind in the United States. The International Rose Test Garden is one of 24 official testing sites for the internationally respected All-America Rose Selections (AARS). The All-American Rose Selections is a non-profit association of rose growers and introducers dedicated to the introduction and promotion of exceptional roses. There are such a variety of roses grown in the garden, and we were there just before peak blooming season. Just beautiful.

Katie and Adam-Married! • Part 2 • The Details • Winston Salem, NC

Katie and Adam celebrated their "reception" this past Saturday under strings of lights in a tent as the sun was setting in Winston Salem, NC. Their intimate ceremony was held back in February, but they wanted to celebrate with more of their friends and family during the summer with a lovely outdoor BBQ. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable evening. From the mason jars and sweet tea to the fireworks, the evening was all about southern charm. Here are some of the details from the evening.
Vendors:
Food- Bibb's Restaurant
Gelato- Caffe Prada
Tables and Chairs- Hauser Rental Service Inc.
Such cute invitations! Loving the mason jar trend right now. Katie so beautifully incorporates them from the invitations to the decorations in her DIY reception.
Lovely burlap accents on the tables and chairs.
Adam and a friend created the spice rub given as favors and you could also take home local honey.

The evening ended with gelato which was a perfect tribute to Adams proposal to Katie in Italy. A excellent and tasty alternative to cake.

Powell's City of Books • Portland, OR • A favorite stop on the road trip

Powell's Books in Portland, OR was the place everyone was talking about when they found out we were heading to Portland, so I had incredibly high expectations of the place. Those standards were not only met, but greatly exceeded. Wow. This 68,000 square foot bookstore is nothing to be messed with. It's broken up into 9 color-coded rooms on four floors which takes up a whole city block! They have an extensive collection of new books and also buy used books. I could have easily spent a year in there.

Couldn't leave without this chocolate bar looking book. Perfect for any chocolate lover!
"99% of all books ever published are now out of print."
One of my favorite childhood books...in french.
In one of the many gift shops they sold some of the designs from SCAD (where I got my bachelor's in Photography) working class studio!
 Reading really IS sexy.
