Seattle- Great Eats!

Before I went to Seattle, I heard that the coffee and food scene was fantastic. Even going in with high expectations, I was thoroughly impressed with the restaurants and coffee shops! Here are a few photos I snapped with my iPhone from a few of my favorites.

Top Pot made some of the best doughnuts I have ever tasted! They are hand-forged and come in an extensive number of flavors including a few seasonal specialties! The maple icing and chocolate icing were my favorite. Definitely try the hand-roasted coffee as well.
Cafe Presse has my mouth watering just thinking of the meals I ate there. The Croque Madame (pictured below) had the perfect combination of flavors. I would also highly recommend their yoghurt with honey and walnuts.

Just a block from where I was staying in Capitol Hill was a fabulous coffee shop, Arabica Lounge. Jojo the owner was incredibly welcoming and it felt like he knew everyone who came in. Not only was the service great, I was addicted to their crepes and coffee, which became a daily breakfast of mine during the whole trip. The grand piano was a nice touch to the atmosphere as well. There is nothing like live piano music to soothe your soul.

A great sandwich place with an eclectic atmosphere for lunch is The Honey Hole. I had a beef brisket sandwich which was definitely in my top 3 beef brisket sandwiches of my life. So yummy!

Gallery LUKE- Seattle, WA

Yesterday, I visited my friend Luke's gallery in Pioneer Square. These photos do not even remotely do his contemporary quilts justice. If you are in Seattle, WA you should definitely check out Gallery LUKE! If you want to see more of his work, also check out his website  where you can watch him make a quilt and read a lot more about his work. For now, check out a few photos I took while I was there.
Gallery LUKE from the outside. The reflection of him in the upper-left part of the window is pretty neat. It's from one of his latest self-portrait quilts.
Luke with the hammer quilt from his "Man Stuff" series.
This quilt is made entirely of used clothes.
Do you see the glove?

After visiting Luke at his gallery, I went to check out his exhibition at the Seattle Coffee Works  located very close to Pike's Place Market. As stated on Luke's website "I made the pieces on the bags they get their beans shipped in from all over the world. I chose Seattle Icons as the images because it is the unifying purpose for these bags to ship in from all over.
I snapped a few shots with my iPhone of Luke's Seattle Coffee series.

Seattle

I am currently in Seattle, WA for a couple of photo shoots and to visit with some friends. I wanted to share some of the photographs I have taken for fun. What a neat city! I am loving it so far.
The Space Needle looked pretty neat on the walk to Pike's Place Market

Interesting juxtaposition in the figurine shop
Delicious wedding items dipped in chocolate. The apples in the dress and tux...so cute.

I went to the very first Starbucks. It was PACKED.
Neat graffiti

My friend Colin is an excellent 3-d artist and game developer. Check out his site here. I like the bird "on his shoulder".
 The infamous gum wall.
The fattest seagulls I have EVER seen!

Such a creative light randomly on the roof by itself.
