We went to Haystack Rock during low tide in hopes of seeing some of the abundant sea life we read about being there, but to our disappointment, only saw a lot of birds flying around the top of the rock. The storm moving in as we approached was more fascinating to me, as you will see below. Some people love blue sky, but really, there is nothing like a good storm a-brewing.

Ecola State Park • Cannon Beach, OR • Breathtakingly Beautiful
Ecola State Park was noticeably different from the rest of the Oregon coast we had seen because the waves were crashing so far out and the rock outcroppings were smaller and plentiful. Taking in the warm fresh air while looking out over the ocean was absolutely lovely.

Waves crashing miles off the shore.
I spy an inconspicuous seagull.
The rain started rolling in...
Dr. Seuss rocks.

The "bridge" up to the walkway off of the beach was a slight challenge.

Bruce's Candy Kitchen • Cannon Beach, OR • Super Sweet
Open since 1963, Bruce's Candy Kitchen is a family owned shop in Cannon Beach, OR. They are most famous for their salt water taffy which I can contest is quite delicious. The sweet aroma coming from the kitchen fills the block. A fun and colorful store to check out for sure.
Mom and I liked the quote "Twinkle twinkle little star, do you know how loved you are" for a child's nursery.
Party like it's your birthday!
Always love childhood throwbacks.
Wish I had tried these, I do love bacon.
"Life's too short for bad candy", true story.
I don't know about you, but furiously good food really does improve my mood. :)
