Unique Venues!

I love when my wedding couples choose unique and personal venues. It always creates an interesting backdrop for the photographs taken during their day. One of my favorite weddings I have been a part of was Kelsey and Erik 's wedding in Savannah, GA. Kelsey worked at the beautiful Paris Market & Brocante, which closed for the day for her and her bridesmaids to get ready for her wedding.
Erik and his groomsmen got ready in Kelsey's apartment. I don't think it can be any more personal than that. :)
Their reception was held in a good friend of Kelseys backyard.

The first part of this video has some great suggestions for ways to personalize your venue as well as unique cake ideas and general tips for your day! I love the idea of having a wedding in a museum, library, or garden and a reception in an art gallery. Check the video out from this link below.

Ashley and Jon Tied the Knot in Savannah, GA!

Ashley and Jon really enjoyed the true Savannah experience for their special day. They got married in Savannah's first square Johnson Square. After an intimate ceremony we all hopped on an Old Savannah Trolley and headed to Savannah's largest park and popular tourist spot, Forsyth Park to take some photos.  Forsyth Park is of course home for the Forsyth Park Fountain which is one of Savannah's top tourist attractions. The lighting was just beautiful as the sun was beginning to set over the park.

This is my favorite photograph from their day. I think Ashley looks particularly stunning!

Jon surprised Ashley with a horse drawn carriage to bring Ashley to the ceremony with her father.

It was freezing outside so a very nice police officer let Ashley borrow her jacket after the ceremony. This is Ashley's "pose" as she puts it. :)

Crystal and Stephen got Married!

Congratulations to Crystal and Stephen, two of the nicest clients I have ever worked with! They had their official wedding ceremony this December in Richmond Hill, GA at the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church. Their genuine love for each other is clear. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your special day! Truly.

Crystal and Stephen love fishing together so Crystal made this fish hook with their wedding date to photograph with their rings! Love it!
All of the bridesmaids wore boots because Crystal basically lives in them normally. A couple of the bridesmaids even borrowed boots from Crystal for the ceremony.
What beautiful ladies!
These groomsmen stepped straight out of a movie.

Stephen was thoroughly enjoying his "bridal" moment with Crystals accessories.
 Too cute.

Stephen surprised Crystal with this gorgeous (and HUGE) ring during the ceremony!
Love this idea for guests to sign instead of a guest signing book.

The Cupid Shuffle is my wedding reception guilty pleasure. Thank you to Katie, my awesome assistant for this shot.

Wedding Details

I wanted to share a few details from an intimate ceremony I photographed recently in Savannah, GA at Forsyth Park Inn.  Love the warm yellow, orange and brown color palette! The couple are very private and requested that photographs of themselves not be posted online, which I respect, so I will not be sharing any of the beautiful photographs of them on my blog with you. Enjoy the details!

The couple shared their vows in front of this beautiful fountain in the courtyard of Forsyth Park Inn!
I love photographs of photos being taken. :)

This adorable little girl was teething, not getting shwasted of course. She wanted to partake in the toast.

Photographing for Fun

Sometimes as a professional photographer, I forget to photograph just for myself, for fun. I have been making more of an effort lately. I just wanted to share this self portrait I snapped whilst photographing my dad's truck he is selling (you can see him too of course, behind the window I'm reflected in). I always love those photographs you randomly capture that were not the initial intention of a photo shoot.

The Sartorialist

Scott Schumann, the photographer behind The Sartorialist; a beautifully inspiring street fashion photography blog, is in this wonderful mini-documentary I wanted to share. I love his approach and opinion on photography and fashion. His photographs really make you want to open your eyes to the world around you. So inspiring.
