Garland's Oak Creek Lodge • Sedona, AZ • A Photographer's Road Trip

Garland's Oak Creek Lodge is nestled off the beaten path in Sedona, AZ. To get there we crossed the creek below which flowed over the road and wound up in the middle of the woods surrounded by red rocks. Just beautiful. The best part of the evening was our incredibly fresh dinner. The menu consisted of Olive Focaccia, Squash and Corn Chowder, Mixed Green Salad, Roasted Chicken with Orizo Pilaf, Braised Garden Greens and Dark Chocolate Panna Cotta. Each night they serve a different dish and if like us, you are not staying at the Lodge, you can make a reservation to join them just for dinner.

From East to West Coast, A Photographer's Road Trip • The Loveless Cafe • Nashville, TN

Showing Some Love for the Loveless Cafe
The first day started with a wake up call at 5:30am in Davidson, NC. We drove until mid-afternoon where we arrived in Nashville, TN for a southern lunch at the very well hyped tourist destination, that is The Loveless Motel and Cafe. The best parts of this place are the biscuits, the signs, and the people watching. Loveless has been featured in places such as Gourmet Magazine, Bon Appetit, CBS Television, People Magazine, and The U.S. News and World Report. Carol Fay Ellison, Loveless cafe's biscuit lady was even in a throwdown with Bobby Flay from the Food Network and showed Martha Stewart her secret recipe!

Foodie Friday • Cafe Presse • Seattle, WA

Cafe Presse has become a favorite place of mine in Capitol Hill to have breakfast and lunch. This french style bar/cafe makes delicious things from a Croque Madame to yogurt with honey and walnuts. You can check out there fantastic menu here. They are open from 7am-2am daily! The atmosphere is also lovely with lots of natural light pouring in from the sky lights and large windows at the front. Every time I have eaten here I have been greeted at the door within seconds of my arrival and taken care of by the nicest of servers.

Pictured first is the Croque Madame, my personal favorite thing on the menu which is a baked ham, gruyere and béchamel sandwich with a sunny side up egg on top.
They offer full coffee service using exclusively Caffe Vita coffee.
Eating these olives really reminded me of being in France. Quite tasty!
   Full bar
Fresh flowers brighten up the tables
They feature affordable wine from the French countryside
