Jess and Jordan are Engaged!

Jessica and Jordan met about two and a half years ago in a coffee shop. Jordan was intrigued by the Grinnell College T-shirt she was wearing. As it turns out both Jessica and Jordan's dad attended college there (crazy!). Jordan proposed on May 1, 2010. In Jordan's words "We were about to go out for dinner and I popped the question at home, saying "wait, I have something for you, close your eyes!" She had no clue, thought I was going to put on a new sweater or something. I think her words were, "Oh my god it's huge!" (looking at the ring)." Cute. :) In my personal opinion, her ring is GORGEOUS!

Food for Thought

So as many of you may know, I am absolutely a foodie. I just wanted to post a few of my suggestions for anyone who may find themselves eating lunch in Savannah, GA.

ZUNZI'S
One of my all time favorites is Zunzi's Takeout and Catering located in downtown Savannah on York st., close to Drayton. http://www.zunzis.com/
As stated on their website, "Zunzi' is a mix of international cuisine that comes from the owners Gabriella and Johnny's very different cultural backgrounds. A combination of Swiss, Italian, South African, and Dutch, Zunzi's brings together flavors that are unique and delicious as well as being fresh."

Their "African tea" is to die for. It's slightly less sweet than typical southern sweet tea.

Their most popular sandwich is the Conquistador, which consists of baked chicken, lettuce, tomato, and "special sauce" (as Zunzi's calls it) on french bread.

I personally really enjoy The Godfather sandwich. It has everything that the Conquistador has, plus sausage (I always order both their homemade and smoked sausages, mm mmmm mmmm) , provolone cheese, and marinara sauce. So delicious!

STARLAND CAFE
A new favorite of mine. http://savannahmenu.com/starlandcafe
They have really great fresh brewed iced tea. This month they are serving iced Earl Grey (sweetened and unsweetened). Their food is so fresh, some of their veggies and herbs are even grown in the backyard. They have the best sandwiches, salads and soups with unique combinations of ingredients! The atmosphere is also really lovely since the dining area is in a house and lots of natural light fills the dining space. My favorite sandwiches are the CBG and their Italian Meatloaf sandwich.

SOHO SOUTH CAFE
More of a Savannah standard, but this eclectic place has consistently delicious food. http://www.sohosouthcafe.com/
I personally love their Turkey Reuben on Rye and the Middle Eastern Pressed Panini sandwiches. They also serve a delicious Sunday brunch. It is one of my mom's favorite places to dine when she is in Savannah.
